After introducing the luxury champagne to the culture in the F. Gary Gray directed visual for “Show Me What You Got”, taken from his coming of age LP Kingdom Come, Soverein Brands Armand de Brignac also know as Ace of Spades is now owned by one of Jay Z‘s newly founded companies.
Hov’s long lasting relationship with the brand was ignited after he severed ties with the former competitive spirit Cristal, stating blatant racism as the cause. Now, I’m sure Cristal had no idea the Roc Nation founder was going to develop into the world wide respected entrepreneur he is today but let this serve as just another great example of hip-hop beating out odds and establishing itself as a force to be reckoned with.
Check out what Soverein Brands Global Director Yvonne Lardener had to say about selling their interests in Armand de Brignac compliments of The New York Times. I’ve also included Jay’s “Show Me What You Got” video which took the bottle popping to a whole new level when it was released back in 2006!
We are proud to announce that Sovereign Brands, a New York-based wine and spirits company owned by the Berish family, has sold its interest in the Armand de Brignac (‘Ace of Spades’) Champagne brand to a new company led by the globally renowned Shawn ‘Jay Z’ Carter.
We have had a wonderful relationship with Jay Z throughout the years since he first discovered Armand de Brignac. He became interested in owning the brand and made us an offer we simply couldn’t refuse.
