Rumors were buzzing that Young Thug signed Future’s Freebandz label or Birdman’s YMCMB imprint. Young Thug announced, on separate occasions, that he was signed to both labels. Gucci Mane squashed the Freebandz rumor when he ordered websites to pull the story about Thug’s false confirmation. When the rapper told Complex he was officially signed to YMCMB, Birdman released an official statement saying there was no paperwork signed. A rep for Atlantic Records, home of 1017 Brick Squad, has given us the closest thing to a confirmation of the rapper being signed by saying, “We are extremely excited about Young Thug but we do not comment on artist contracts.”
