Much of the preseason NCAA college basketball hype was surrounding a freshman entering Kansas but it wasn’t the man who could be the first overall pick in the 2014 NBA draft. Although many so called college basketball experts saw Kansas Jayhawks forward Andrew Wiggins being the biggest star in Kansas this season, Cameroon native Joel Embiid left his mark in college basketball leading the Jayhawks offensively and defensively and he has announced that he will enter the 2014 NBA draft.
Joel Embiid was arguably the MVP of the Kansas Jayhawks team this season and a late season back injury forced him to miss the final 6 games could be the reason Kansas didn’t go far in the NCAA tournament. Joel Embiid averaged 11 points, 8 rebounds and nearly 3 blocks this season at Kansas and is widely considered a top 3 pick.
