Despite this not being the offseason Los Angeles Lakers were hoping for this year, the Lakers finally have their head coach. After several interviews and a long negotiation process, the Lakers and former showtime Laker guard Byron Scott have agreed to terms to name Scott the Lakers new head coach.
According to ESPN, the deal is for 4 years and $17 million dollars. Scott had this to say to KCBS-TV on Saturday night.
“It feels fantastic,” he told KCBS-TV. “This is a dream come true. I always wanted to coach the Lakers, especially when I got to coaching. It’s so unreal. I have to thank [general manager] Mitch [Kupchak], Jeanie and Jim Buss to give me this opportunity.”
