Tonight’s week 9 Thursday night NFL matchup features the (3-4) New Orleans Saints against the (3-4-1) Carolina Panthers. The NFC South hasn’t been what many assumed it would be at the beginning of the year but tonight could spring a turnaround for one team. The Saints are coming off of a big win against the Green Bay Packers and the Panthers lost a tough matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. Tonight, one team will take charge in the NFC South.
With the Panthers hosting the game tonight, I look for Charlotte fans to be loud and ready to pump up their crowd. The Panthers offense will need a big game tonight to compete with the Saints high powered offense. Look for Cam Newton to rush for over 75 yards tonight and pass for 3 touchdowns. Panthers rookie Kelvin Benjamin will score two of the three touchdowns. The Panthers rushing attack will all combine for over 210 yards tonight.
The Saints may have found their groove after their winning against the Packers. Drew Brees will look to get the passing attack going early and often with the Panthers secondary struggling recently. The return of running back Mark Ingram will help the Saints play action tonight which could play big for Saints tight end Jimmy Graham. Look for Drew Brees to toss a touchdown as well and for Ingram to rush for two touchdowns. Despite their recent struggles on the road, I expect the Saints to surprise the Panthers tonight and come out with a victory.
