Oregon Ducks quarterback Marcus Mariota became the first University of Oregon player to bring home the Heisman Trophy over the weekend but now the Ducks have bigger fish to fry. Mariota capped off his Heisman season accounting for 38 touchdowns to only 2 interceptions for over 3780 yards and a chance to be named a national champion.
Now that the world will be watch Mariota it’s time to see if he is ready for the next level. On January 1, Mariota’s Oregon Ducks will face James Winston and the Florida State Seminoles. A win against a FSU program that hasn’t lost in over a year could mean a trip to Texas for the National Championship game and possibly being drafted first overall by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Is Mariota ready to take the next step? Does he has the skills to be an elite NFL quarterback? Give us your opinion below.
