Beans is out of the hospital & doing just fine, according to fellow State Property member, Freeway. He’ll be resting up for the next couple of months, but that doesn’t mean that the grind will be put on hold. Beanie Sigel is ready to get back in the studio. He & Jahlil Beats will team up for his forthcoming project Still Public Enemy Mixtape. Nahright caught up with the young producer to get a few words on what him & Beans are cooking up:
I love working—just doing whole projects with people. Just doing the bulk of people’s s**t. It’s like what me and Beans doing, we taking it back. I sampled some old records, like old records from the ‘90s, but put my twist to it. It ain’t like he shying away and trying to do the new shit to fit in with the young dudes, you know what I am saying? It’s like [the] same shit I’m doing with Meek right now. We doing some real street s**t, but it fit with what is going on right now. And Beans never lost it. He’s only getting better as far as the lyricism and s**t like that.
I think that Beans is gonna surprise ‘em too. We doing Still Public Enemy. His last big joint with Green Lantern was Public Enemy #1. This joint is Still Public Enemy. It’s like a mixtape, but it’s like an album because [it has] all my s**t. S**t gonna be crazy. I got some surprises on that joint. I think Beans is still getting Green Lantern. Ain’t nothing changed, we just doing s**t up-to-date. Some s**t that is modern right now.
“Honestly, I couldn’t even say [if Still Public Enemy is coming out this year.] I’m just keeping him in my prayers and hoping he recovers 100 percent. Then, when he ready, I’m ready to go right back in and putting this s**t out.
We’ll keep you posted on more details & a release date as the info surfaces!
