According to ComicBook:
The Dragon Ball franchise is coming back to TV, with a new series called Dragon Ball Super, the first in 18 years since Dragon Ball GT. The new show is scheduled to air on Fuji TV in Japan this July.
The people behind the new TV show haven’t given out many details about the new installment in the popular anime franchise, but what they have revealed is exciting. Masako Nozawa, the voice actor of Goku, Gohan, and Goten said that the show will be better than ever: “We’ve always used the word ‘chō’ (Super) with Dragon Ball in commercials, games and the like, but the fact that the series titled Dragon Ball Super […] is the best thing ever.”
Akira Toriyama, the mastermind behind the Dragon Ball franchise, is working on the show himself. Osamu Nozaki, a producer from Fuji TV, said that the characters in this new series will be beyond anything the franchise has seen before. “As I read the plot [of the series] I’ve already received from Akira Toriyama, my dreams for this begin to expand,” he said. “An enemy even stronger than Buu or Frieza may appear.”
That’s crazy, because Frieza is pretty high up there on the list of bestDragon Ball Z characters.
We have yet to figure out when the series will air in the U.S. so we’ll just have to wait patiently until July.
