CNBC released a teaser into their next installment of White Collar Convicts: Life On The Inside, which features Grammy-Award winning Hip-Hop artist, Ja Rule & the former CEO of Tyco, Dennis Kozlowski. During this clip, Ja Rule touches on him being incarcerated at Mid-State penitentiary where Dennis Kozlowski was too being held. The two were obviously unaware of one another before serving time, but soon came to develop a positive relationship–Rule was being mentored by an extremely powerful man.
Even though Kozlowski was disgraced by the company, there is no denying his presence & affiliations with Tyco. He was imprisoned back in 2005 on securities fraud as well as other charges (like spending $1 Million dollars of company earnings to fund his wife’s party & purchase an ice sculpture of Michaelangelo’s David that pee’d Stoli vodka).
There’s a such thing as “friendly extortion” that takes place behind prison walls. Ja Rule explains that Kozlowski was a man who very much so kept to himself while being in prison, which is very understandable, given his status.
The story will premiere on CNBC Wednesday, April 29th. Be sure to tune in!
