As you may have heard, Lil Wayne is suing Birdman for $51 million. The rapper is also seeking to take full control of all of the contracts of his Young Money artists such as Nicki Minaj and Drake. Many did not believe the lawsuit is real while others had questions as to why Wayne decided $51 million was the amount to sue for. The entire 21-page lawsuit against Cash Money Records has been made available to the interwebs.
In parts of the document it states that Weezy and the record company signed an amendment in 2012 that would be giving him $2 million in advance for projects and $2 million when the entire album was delivered as well as an additional $2 million while Wayne records a new album. Cash Money “has refused to pay Carter the Two Million Dollars due.”
TMZ is reporting that if Cash Money pays Wayne the $10 million owed to him, he has legal obligation to stay on the label. Universal is said to be strongly urging their imprint to pay up.
