We are moments away from witnessing history as the first ever NCAA college football playoffs are about to take place. This year’s 2015 Rose Bowl game will feature the number two ranked Oregon Ducks facing the number three ranked Florida State Seminoles.
This game won’t only be key due to it being the first college football playoff game but it will also feature the last two Heisman trophy winners Jamies Winston and Marcus Mariota. Both Winston and Mariota are projected to be future NFL first round draft picks and possibly the two top picks in the 2015 NFL draft if they decide to enter the draft. With all eyes on these two well respected programs, their showcase could be the beginning of a battle we see for years to come.
In a matchup which I believe will be compared to a modern day Magic vs. Bird but only in the NFL in the near future, I expect today’s game to be a high scoring shootout. Look for Winston to come out with a chip on his shoulder passing for over 320 yards and rushing for over 80. The Oregon Ducks will also come out strong putting points on the board. Marcus Mariota will pass for over 275 and toss 3 touchdown passes but not enough to advance in the 2015 college football playoffs.
Eldorado Predictions : Oregon 31 FSU 40
Justin Predictions: Oregon over Florida St: Oregon will beat a Florida State team that while undefeated, has underperformed for most of the season. While their defenses are evenly matched, Oregon’s offense is much more dynamic than FSU’s who has had problems with turnovers and running the ball. Prediction: Oregon 35 FSU 21
