The Dallas Cowboys escaped with a big win last night against the New York Giants but they lost a key member of their team for the next month of so. During the Cowboys big win last night, Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant suffered a foot injury and will miss 4-6 weeks.
According to ESPN,
Dallas Cowboys All-Pro receiver Dez Bryant will be sidelined four to six weeks after breaking a bone in his right foot Sunday night.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Bryant will need surgery to place a pin in his foot and repair the injury that occurred sometime during the third quarter.
“That’s a tough loss. You can’t replace Dez Bryant,” quarterback Tony Romosaid. “I hurt for him, right now, because I know how much he loves to play this game.
A source told ESPN’s Todd Archer that Bryant would have the surgery Tuesday.
Bryant, who signed a five-year, $70 million deal with $48 million guaranteed in the offseason, has had at least 88 catches and 1,200 yards each of the past three seasons, while scoring 41 touchdowns in that span.
He finished Sunday’s season-opening 27-26 win over the New York Giants with five catches for 48 yards, with a long of 18.
