We are in for a good game tonight. Week 8 of the 2015 NFL season comes to a end in North Carolina tonight as two former number one overall picks go toe to toe. Tonight, Cam Newton and the undefeated (6-0) Carolina Panthers host Andrew Luck and the (3-4) Indianapolis Colts.
The Carolina Panthers have easily been the surprise of the year so far as the sit on top on the NFC with a undefeated record. Panthers QB Cam Newton has played huge all season and is a early candidate for the 2015 MVP award. Despite not having a number one receiver after losing Kelvin Benjamin during the preseason, Newton and tight end Greg Olson have lead the Panther offense and will be looking to do the same this evening.
The Colts are also been a surprise but not in a positive way. To sum in up, the Colts stank so far this season and after their offseason signing of former 49ers running back Frank Gore and former Texans receiver Andre Johnson, many assumed the Colts would return to the AFC championship game this season and maybe even win the AFC. Things don’t look as such as far and if things don’t change in Indy, there could be a coaching change in the very near future.
I expect tonight’s game to be a statement game for the Panthers. Looking to stay undefeated and gain some ground in the NFC, I expect Cam Newton to have a big game running and passing accounting for over 400 total yards. Look for the Panther defense to force Andrew Luck to turn the ball over twice and to capitalize off of both turnovers. T.Y. Hilton will have a good night but he won’t be able to shake rising star cornerback Josh Norman. I’m sticking with the hometeam tonight.
Colts 20 Panthers 27
