Every year during SXSW, Rap Radar’s Elliott Wilson brings us a new epic episode to his CRWN interview series. This year, he sat down with Big Sean during the week-long festival. Sean is still riding off of the incredible success gained from his latest No. 1 album, Dark Sky Paradise. In part one of the conversation, they touch on the road leading up to the release of Dark Sky Paradise & all that Sean endured emotionally during his recording process. He also gets into dealing with the passing of his grandmother & how Cash Money Records CEO, Birdman, was the inspiration behind his hit record Mula.
Detroit has always played a pivotal role in Big Sean’s career. Later in their conversation they talk about the culture invested into his hometown & what type of struggles the city endures. We find out that his 2012 mixtape Detroit should have been his sophomore album contrary to his 2013 LP Hall Of Fame (agreed).
These conversations always are in-depth & we always learn something new about these artists who we listen to daily. Check out part 1 & keep it locked as we wait for part 2 to be released.
