Mike Epps is seriously funny (no pun or shots at Kevin Hart intended, haha). This morning, he visited “The Madd Hatta Morning Show” & held nothing back in conversation. Topics that were touched on included his “beef” with Kevin Hart, which he made very clear wasn’t as serious as people were making it out to be–comedians are SUPPOSED to take jabs at people, including each other. Kevin isn’t the only comedian who has caught some shade from Epps, however. He’s previously had run-ins with Katt Williams & Chris Rock too. Comedian beef gets REAL. Rap beef ain’t got nothing on it.
Epps also spoke on how in the current comic realm, comedians seem to be more like trends, as we’re looking for the new flavor just as soon as those that have been in the spotlight for a while seem to have reached their peak. He calls it a “purposed rotation”.
Black culture in front of the camera is rapidly growing. We now have ongoing series like “EMPIRE” & “Blacklish” that bring it to a forefront in a very lucrative & long-overdue manner, which is to be appreciated. Epps touched on the importance of this & how “the black door” in Hollywood has opened up. You’ve never seen all the color on television before that we’re seeing today. Scandal is booming with an extraordinary black woman as the main character, but it isn’t apart of “Black Hollywood”. Keri Washington got sucked into their world. She slays though.
Different black people like different things, like Mike Epps’ mother for example. She’s into the Victor Newman’s of the world. Ha!
