Wale recently unveiled his new collaborative sneaker collection, teaming up with Asics and shoe boutique VILLA. The brands have come together to release the exclusive Gel Lyte III “IC Champion”, which pays homage to all the Intercontinental Champions in WWE’s history, such as Triple H and Chris Jericho. The shoe is worn by Wale himself on the cover of the latest issue of Footwear News and VILLA’s said this about the rapper:
“He has the ability to step out; he’s not a follower,” VILLA’s CEO Jason Lutz said of Wale. “Some people have it, others don’t, and he’s always been that guy who’s ahead of what’s happening in fashion. Customers are attracted to authentic product stories. This is very much who Wale is,” Lutz added. “Wrestling really is his hobby, his passion, and is what’s true to him.”
The ASICS Gel Lyte III “IC Champion” brought to you by VILLA and Wale are set to drop at VILLA locations and www.ruvilla.com on July 21st & available in men’s ($160) and grade school ($120) sizes.
