Massachusetts-based rap artist Kyle Bent drops his highly anticipated album, Complex Simplicity. The LP stands as a unique body of work that expresses Bent’s life philosophy: “Comparing your life to anybody else is pointless. No one has the story you have. If you waste it, that’s it. And that alone should give you every reason to look life in the eye and say give me all you got and turn your life into a fairy tale.” At only 19 years old, Kyle Bent has garnered the attention of Earmilk, Complex, Mass Appeal, HipHopDX, MTV, Hip-Hop Vibe and more. His music showcases his deeply-held insights on life, distinguishing him from other rappers lyrically a nd sonically. Complex Simplicity, his sophomore album, is a captivating testament to his perseverance in both his life and music career.
Bent began creating music around the age of nine, after a friend introduced him to the art of freestyling. When he was thirteen he was given an opportunity to record in a real studio courtesy of executive engineer Tarik McFarland. McFarland then became the official engineer for Bent during his entire high school career, as his music career began to take shape. He dropped his first mixtape at the age of fourteen, another one before he turned fifteen, and a third at the age of sixteen. To date, Bent has released a total of six projects with a seventh on the way. In between each of one of these projects, he’s released multiple music videos that have between 30,000 to 500,000 views respectively. He’s proven to be “one of the more popular and harder working indie artists in the game,” according to Hip-Hop Vibe.
Now that the “burgeoning wordsmith,” has captivated audiences with his “upbeat style and positive vibes”, we can expect a lot more from the rising emcee!
