After amassing some buzz earlier this year with “Mona Lisa,” West Coast rapper Sash continues to make waves for his upcoming Black Caviarmixtape with an absolute banger, “Make Her Say.”
The Ukrainian-born, San Francisco-based rapper’s latest single follows the bass-heavy lead of “Mona Lisa” but ups the energy considerably. Producer Cal-A deserves ample thanks for that, as his massive beat is a shot of musical adrenaline that bounces with so much hyphy swagger that you’ll want to hit the streets and cruise to this one.
Sash’s approach to the mic cooly complements the instrumental, bringing a fresh, deft mix of bravado and self-awareness. This is evident in bars like, “You don’t understand, you ain’t from the places I been/ Eastern European Union, tellin’ you what’s poppin’.” Clearly, dude’s seen some sh*t in his time on the planet, and he’s more than ready and willing to celebrate the success he’s seeing with his music.
“Make Her Say” is available for both stream and download through all major digital retailers, and will appear on Sash’s Black Caviar, which drops in July.
