Team USA’s basketball women’s national team is moving on to the Rio 2016 Olympic Gold medal game! After defeated France on Thursday afternoon, Angel McCoughtry, Maya Moore and Team USA’s women team will face Spain for a chance to win the Gold medal on Sunday.

A 25-8 scoring advantage in the third quarter was the difference-maker for the 2016 U.S. Olympic Women’s Basketball Team (7-0) in its 86-67 win over France (4-3) in the 2016 Olympic Games semifinals on Friday evening at Carioca Arena 1 in Rio de Janeiro.
The USA will meet Spain (6-1) in the gold medal game at 2:30 p.m. (EDT) on Aug. 20. Spain advanced after beating Serbia (3-4) 68-54. Serbia and France will meet in the bronze medal game at 10:30 a.m. (EDT) on Aug. 20.
The USA, which got six points from Maya Moore in the first quarter and seven from Angel McCoughtry in the second, shot 44.4 percent from the field in the first half (16-36 FGs), but that included 0-of-4 shooting from 3-point. France was at 41.2 percent at the midway point, including 3-of-8 from 3-point (.375).
Moore contributed 15 points, seven rebounds and three assists in the win; Fowles added 12 points and nine rebounds; Augustus finished with 10 points, six rebounds and three assists; and Griner tallied 10 points and six rebounds.
