The 2016-17 NBA season is live and in full effect and things were rolling on Wednesday evening as the Los Angeles Lakers came to town to face the Atlanta Hawks. This was the first matchup between the two teams on the year and the Lakers came into the building and they walked away with a (123-116) victory.
For the Lakers, South Gwinnett native Lou Williams had a huge game in front of several friends and family members. Williams dropped 18 points on 6 for 11 shooting from the floor including 16 fourth quarter points. D’Angelo Russell also had a big night scoring 23 and 8 assist. Nick Young contributed with 17 points.
For the Atlanta Hawks, Dwight Howard had a big night scoring 31 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Tim Hardaway Jr. was huge off the bench scoring 26 points on 8 for 11 shooting from the floor. The Hawks are back in action on Friday night in Washington D.C. facing the Wizards and they return home to Philips Arena Saturday against the Houston Rockets. The Lakers are back in action Friday night against the Golden State Trailblazers.
