In his hilarious and all-too-true new video for “Jam Bands Ruined Your Life,” upstate New York native E-Pro chronicles the story of a young man whose life goes sideways after he becomes addicted to mind-altering drugs and jam band concerts.
The visuals are directed by Angel “Oz” Navarro (Meyhem Lauren & Buckwild, Danny Matos) who, like the track’s producer, Rusty Mack, runs with Harry Fraud’s SRFSCHL collective. And in his vision for “Jam Bands Ruined Your Life,” Navarro follows E-Pro’s gut-busting and searing narrative to a T.
As for what that narrative entails, you’ll watch as a spoiled kid gets accepted to college (SUNY-Albany) only to waste his time listening to Phish and Sound Tribe Sector 9, getting stoned with his friends, and eventually landing on the wrong side of the law. We don’t want to spoil anything, but E-Pro sums it all up nicely with his closing bar: “Moral of the story: you don’t got to be this kid/ You could listen to Boom bap rap like E-Pro did.”
