CYKO (Windell “Shawn” Durrant) explains that he raps about money so much because it represents opportunity for him, a chance to give his family a better life.
“I just want to be the best at what I’m doing, and make a living,” the father of two explains, his daughter happily playing alongside him. “That’s my inspiration to get ahead.”
And CYKO is well on his way. Boasting a track record that includes collaborations with Rich Homie Quan (“So Much Money”), Kevin Gates (“Chico”), 1Hot (“On My Own”), 5th Street Bree (“Ratchet Shit”) and Drebo (“Knotz” for Fetty Wap’s Zoo Gang label), the West Palm Beach, FL native – named for “going bonkers in the studio” – is emerging as a serious triple-threat – a rapper, writer and producer.
