After a hard fought victory on Monday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Atlanta Hawks were back in action taking on a familiar opponent. On Wednesday night, the Hawks faced Dwight Howard and the Charlotte Hornets with the Hornets picking up a (123-110) victory over Atlanta.
For the Charlotte Hornets, point guard Kemba Walker was on fire Wednesday night, finishing the night with 39 points. Walker was effective from behind the three point line breaking a Hornets franchise record and his own career best for three pointers made. Kemba Walker shot (12-20) from the field including going (9-13) from the three point line.
Hornets big man Dwight Howard also had a big night against his former team. Howard finished the night with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Hornets forward Nicolas Batum finished with a triple-double. Batum had 10 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assist.

For the Atlanta Hawks, forward/guard Kent Bazemore is playing some of the best basketball I have ever seen him play. Kent has been getting it done on the offensive and defensive side of the ball, his play just did not result in a team win on Wednesday night. Bazemore led the team in scoring finishing with 25 points on (8-11) shooting. Off the bench, sharpshooter Marco Bellinelli finished with 22 points. Dennis Schroder added 13 points and Hawks rookie John Collins added 12 points.
The Hornets currently stand at (21-29). The Atlanta Hawks are currently (15-36). The Hawks will hit the road as they will be back in action on Friday night in Boston against the Boston Celtics.
