UNDERGROUND PROJECT OF THE WEEK

After dropping a few hot singles in 2019, K Slug gives us a full project and i have to crown him with project of the week. First track in i was captured by the first bars. “Average” a great introduction to who K Slug is if this is the first time you are hearing his music. A good mix of auto-tune use without over use, a solid sense of how to build a full song and ability to story tell.

Track 2 “Look” came in heavy and hit us with a current soung to show he can stand in the circles of his competition. Production is key and i only see it improving as the music unfolds. Conecept savy and solid beat choices are 50 percent of the battle when creating a album and that showed through out the full project.

“Persuasion” feat. KJ is the one i feel will have a crazy video presence. Adding a solid R&B vibe on the hook with K J gave it a smooth bounce and ofcourse K Slugg walked on it as expected. Always getting his way when it comes to music, the hustle, the women and everything else takes on. The hook is sure to stick in your head shout out to KJ for the assist, definitly one of my favorite tracks.

9 for 9 on this album from the young emcee, even the interlude is relatable and hits home with the message he is pushing. Any means neccassary because thats what got us here in “The Beginning”. Doing what it takes against all odds and celebrating you accomplishments. The last track I want to highlight is “Tired”. If you dont feel this record we just not in the same world and i understand but this is a hit! Heavy bass with a solid guitar lead, followed by the vocal abilities i didnt know Slug had. We all get tired of somthing and what ever it is play this track and vent about it.
