The streets of Fayetteville, North Carolina have been quiet since their biggest star, J. Cole graced the hip-hop world. Fast forward to 2020 and the Ville’s latest rocking’ rhymer is none other than Past Life Records, EDC#1.
Rapper and Past Life Records CEO, EDC#1, since the start of his musical career he quickly realized he wanted to make music and help other artists. In doing so, after 4 years of working as an artist, EDC created Past Life Records. To kick off the labels roster, EDC#1 signed childhood friends rapper Jayon and producer Shaun Lamb. Shortly after, he went on to sign singer Ben Marks.
The rapper dropped his debut compilation project titled, EDC’s Past Life, featuring his entire team – each and every signed artist and producer to the label. The authentically created project is made up of 3 tracks. All of the records are a hit and entirely produced by in-house producer Shaun Lamb. The included tracks are “Lies” featuring Jayson, Sir Ben Marx on “Walking Thru” and EDC#1 and Jayson team up for the last record “Good”.
The Past Life-produced and created project is the perfect blend of hip-hop and R&B. Not only does it display Lamb’s great skills in producing and consistency with hard hitting beats, but also showcases rapper Jayon and singer Ben Marx’s lyrical and vocal talents.
With visuals on the way, EDC’s Past Life is slated to be the label’s best project to date. EDC’s utilized his music and has made it a goal to turn his passion for music to further himself and other artists’ careers. Turning his ultimate goal into a business that breaks artists into the industry by discovering their talent. He prides himself in being inspired by Puff Daddy, who’s artistry transformed into a legacy. As Past Life continues to grow and prosper, EDC hopes to eventually sign a partnership or joint venture deal with a major label. Stay tuned for more music and solo projects on the way.
