Vic Rivers – “Buena Vista”

September 10, 2020 0

Hailing from Queens, New York, emerging hip-hop artist Vic Rivers wants the world to know that there is no such thing as boundaries when it comes to making music. Not your average rapper, he displays an tremendous amount of potential with his irresistible cadence and flow. Ahead of his promising full-length, the rising star delivers possibly best work yet in the new single, titled, “Buena Vista.”

The song is inspired by traditional Spanish love. Rivers explains, “Buena Vista (which means good view in Spanish) is inspired by a love situation(or entanglements lol) that me and my friend Ten$e both went through but from different sides. For me it was inspired by being in an affair with one of my best friends (super messy I know) Long story short, she’s been in a dying relationship for over 5 years, but can’t leave him and we had fallen for each other. It was destined to fall apart but sometimes the grass looks greener on the other side (hence the “good view”). For Ten$e he had the perfect girl (the good view) but can’t be with her because he’s fully focused on the music and getting money (because we all know we can’t make it as musicians without heavy investments of $). To briefly translate the Spanish part of the chorus, he’s saying: He doesn’t have time, so can’t be your boyfriend, you have to find someone else.”

Available on Diversity Never Abandoned imprint, “Buena Vista” follows Rivers’ previously released, “The Haunting.” The song sets up Rivers’ forthcoming album, slated for late-2020.
