Rising ATL “pain artist,” (Flaunt) Big Havi is back to release his second project titled, No Pen No Pad Just Pain. The eight-track EP is out now via Commission Records. Speaking on the EP, Havi notes, “There’s a lot of sh*t going on in the world right now, and everybody’s been going through it. I pray my music is something that people can latch onto because it’s nothing but real music, real experiences, real pain.”
His latest EP, No Pen No Pad Just Pain, looks to build on the success of his debut, Personal Problems, while delivering quick, melodic flows and inspired bars. Growing-up in East Atlanta, Havi’s experienced his fair share of pain and it’s evident in the project’s tracklisting. Some favorites of mine include the confident opener, “Back In My Ways,” and the rock-inspired “Real Wit Yall,” (the only way Havi keeps it) followed by the low-key banger “Dope Shit,” which dropped earlier this week on Wednesday. “The EP as a whole just touches on a lot of pain I’ve gone through in my life and how I’ve moved past it,” Havi told me.” On my last EP I didn’t really get to touch on my brother’s passing. That was something I was able to do here. I keep on maturing as an artist and getting more comfortable in front of the mic, so I hope that’s something people will be able to recognize here.”
