Bobby Hendrixx was introduced to a variety of music as a kid growing up in Southern Illinois, located across the river from St. Louis, Missouri. Influenced by his father, who still performs as a DJ, Bobby’s love for music was inevitable. Bobby, who started recording music at age twelve, was also influenced by artists from the Illinois/St. Louis region, such as Nelly, Kanye West and Kid Cudi.
Bobby’s approach to Music is his signature dark, melodic rhymes, with a balance of a descriptive and mystical vibe, catchy hooks and an infectious flow over a dope beat. His ability to be versatile while still keeping his originality allows Bobby to reach a very wide and faithful fan base.

What is it like to completely bet on yourself with this music path you are choosing to pursue? Talk to us about the highs and the lows of this all, the pressures?
To be honest, the only pressure I ever felt was not being able to truly be myself and take a chance at pursuing my dream! It’s not about what happens on the journey, it’s about starting the journey cuz if you’re not moving, then that’s when you start feeling the pressure.
Although you might not be at your final destination and where you truly see yourself. Your work ethic is undeniable. Do you have any wisdom or advice to give to your peers or those that are looking to take the same route as you?
Go for it!! You don’t ever want to live with any regrets about if you would have done something. We all know there’s risk with just about any decision we make in life so like if that’s the case, why not shoot for your dream? I just think life is too short and unpredictable to not be willing to make some sacrifices to better yourself. If it doesn’t work out, at least you know! If it does, you also know. You’ll never know if you don’t go for it!
Thoughts on the music industry? Is it as cut throat as everyone says?
The world is cut throat, life is cut throat, so why would music be any different haha. I’m having fun and learning along the way. If something is out of your control why worry about it?
What type of music did you grow up listening to?
Literally everything haha! I got made fun of because I used to listen to pop rock haha. I love music, and I guess because I look a certain way I’m supposed to not like certain genres, but f*ck that haha! I wouldn’t be here today if I had followed that narrative.
What is your favorite record that you have dropped to date? Not the fan favorite, your favorite. And why?
“Pull Up On a TikToker” just because the story behind that entire song is just wayyyy more deep than people really think haha! From recording it, to the meaning of it, to who produced it, to dropping it lol. I could talk about that song for hours.
