Buffalo New York Artist and CEO of Enlightenment Entertainment DOM.P is making headlines once again! The Buffalo Bred Hip Hop artist and lyrical genius is making news once more after World Premiering the music video for “FROM THE HEART”, a single off his new 8 track album entitled PAIN STRUGGLE GREED that he debuted earlier in May. The album- which fans are calling his best work yet features Hip Hop Pioneers like: Jadakiss, Benny The Butcher, Rick Hyde, Heem, Twin2xs and Love- ILY. Some have said his latest project has applied the pressure within the industry among the East Coast Indi artists and that DOM. P is the one to look out for.

Dom. P first announced the untitled project last fall and dropped teasers about it all year while fans waited patiently for the artist to announce its official release date. The rapper finally debuted PAIN STRUGGLE GREED on May 6th and was met with rave reviews. PEEP THE TRACKLIST BELOW!

While fans have been buzzing over the new album, on June 23rd, 2021, DOM. P released the visuals for his single Track #3 off his new project- “FROM THE HEART” and within the first 24 hours the music video was trending on YOUTUBE. STREAM THE SONG BELOW!

The music video which is set in Buffalo NY, was presented by Enlightenment Ent -, Directed by Johni Gillz and Produced by Danny Vista. The creative concept of the video was thought up by the artist himself and appears more like a short film as DOM. P strategically story tells with the lyrics set to the visuals. DOM. P, who isalready well known for wearing his heart on his sleeve lyrically, says “FROM THE HEART” is one of his “more revealing/ emotional songs off the album.” The Buffalo artist says about the track “FROM THE HEART reveals my emotions and revealing my emotions through music is just me and who I am. That’s how I create most of my music. This song expresses PAIN STRUGGLE AND GREED. It all relates to the majority of my listeners in some way shape or form. I want my fans to feel me so we can create the bond of reality through music. That’s always the goal when creating music. And I think the fans get that about me.” PEEP THE VIDEO BELOW!

The music video which is set in Buffalo NY tells the story of the artist who has experienced – like many of us – the cycle of PAIN STRUGGLE GREED. In it we see the artist and the other actors in the video walking through a cemetery to someone’s gravesite while the artist says “it’s hard when you got love for a n*gga you can’t bring em back.” He says it’s a general statement to walk to the grave site, which is actually his wife Tina’s (T-Hood) beloved Late Mother Lessie B Harris RIP. “We’ve all lost someone we wish we can bring back and when Tina lost her mother I had seen the Pain both she and her family went through so I wanted to incorporate that into the video. Because going to her grave it real and the emotions – authentic. There’s no acting there.”
The visuals tell the story of how in life, you will overcome one hardship just to find yourself in another, but the message sets the tone loud and clear that if you can get through the hard times, you will eventually be rewarded with the good life has to offer and your moment to celebrate with the people who stuck by you through it all will come. DOM. P, who is currently living in North Carolina chose to go back home to Buffalo NY to film the music video from his new single FROM THE HEART and says the reason he chose to film back home is because “The at home feeling where I had majority of my life experiences is there. I wanted the scenery to actually be from the heart, authentic and with my real family and friends that I’ll bring to the table when I celebrate.” The actors in the video are actually some of his closest family and friends and have been a part of the journey. He says the creative concept of walking through the cemetery leading up to the big celebration & popping champagne with his crew is to portray that “we all go through Pain Struggle and Greed but at the end of the day we keep going- we push to give ourselves something to celebrate kinda like from rags to riches. Finally – it’s our time after all we been through.”
The music video – or short film rather “FROM THE HEART” also gives us a glimpse into another side of the rapper and CEO as he flexes his acting skills leaving the industry wondering if he will ever make the cross over to the big screen. I asked the artist if the rumors swirling of him making his acting debut in the future are true and DOM. P tells me “Definitely- my manager has been in contact with certain screenwriters and producers interested in casting me for roles and currently, there are some big things in the works so you’ll have to stay tuned to find out. “
The May 6th debut of PAIN STRUGGLE GREED wasn’t an easy road. The album which DOM. P started last summer was produced by Buffalo Legend The Late DJ Shay who passed away while DOM. P and the producer were in the middle of working on the project. The remainder of the album was produced by Black Soprano Family’s -Rick Hyde that DOM. P credits for picking up exactly where Shay left off. Dom P tells me about Shay and the album “In the end, the whole album PAIN STRUGGLE GREED is ultimately dedicated to DJ Shay. I’m thankful for having had the opportunity to have DJ Shay produce the album and one thing I’ll carry with me is The TOP SECRET BLUEPRINT FOR SUCCESS DJ SHAY TAUGHT ME.”
Dom P first made headlines last April after the World Premiere of his single DIAMOND IN THE SKY along with the music video that went viral. His latest project, the album entitled PAIN STRUGGLE AND GREED has been going viral on all platforms.
