Many of these people could have been successful artists or entrepreneurs if they had the zeal to learn consistently and put that knowledge to proper use. Jia Ruan has done just this but has also been unique in the music industry. This Gen Z artist is blowing up on social media with his unique instrumental tracks that are both energetic and soul-soothing.
Jia was introduced to unique sounds when he started working as a salesman at a musical instrument store. Earning barely enough to support his mother who was a music teacher working two jobs. Jia continued simply to follow his passion for music. He went to work each day with the determination to learn something new. His in-depth understanding of sounds and different instruments often impressed customers. To further hone his craft, Jia would take music lessons from his mother during his days off.
This went on for years until Jia discovered his unique talent of blending unconventional sounds. He can combine the sound of a bass guitar with a piano or fast drums with the soft notes of a violin. His forte lies in using a single instrument in different ways to create different sounds. This is where he managed to distinguish himself from the crowd. Jia can literally express any emotion like sadness, ecstasy, anger, love, and anxiety through sound. He doesn’t have to rely on lyrics to convey his thoughts to his audience.
In January 2021, Jia decided to share his knowledge with like-minded people across social media. He released his debut instrumental track, “Vibrations,” after creating a YouTube channel by the same name. Following the response of his debut release, he kept posting on Facebook and Instagram, earning loads of positive feedback from music enthusiasts across the world. Within a few weeks after the release of “Vibrations,” the track earned more than 2 million views on YouTube. Currently, “Vibrations” has more than 8 million likes on YouTube and more than 5 million hits on Spotify.
This overwhelming response to his debut release encouraged him to pursue music as a full-time career. He knows how important an audience is to an artist, so he never keeps people waiting for updates. Jia does live sessions almost every day on different social media platforms to engage with his fans. These live sessions sometimes include tutorials on instruments or sharing his inspiring story to motivate people to chase their goals.
This newfound success did not result in Jia becoming complacent. He knows how unpredictable social media is. A track that is trending one day can fall out of favor the next. That’s why he always keeps himself motivated to continue learning. It can be anything related to increasing his social media engagement, learning a new musical instrument, or simply getting to know his audience better.
Jia Ruan has traveled a long way to get to where he is today. Of course, he had to go through a series of trial and error, but that only made him stronger for the upcoming challenges. He now aspires to motivate others to walk his path through social media.
