Steppin’ out of Far Rockaway, Queens is none other than the talented yet underrated, Keen Streetz. He’s back with a brand new project titled, Street Gospel.
As Keen is seen to be an authentic rapper, it was only right to curate a project like Street Gospel, that embodies the truth, trials and tribulations of the streets. His brand new album is a well executed display of tight classic production, slick bars, and gritty NYC street talk right out of hip hop’s golden era.
As a result, he enlisted the help of New York hip hop legends like Vado on “What U Really Doin” and Jim Jones on “Wraith Talk.” With the release of Street Gospel, Keen Streetz also announced a new partnership with Jim Jones’ Byrd Gang 2.0, a confirmed Harlem legend. In addition, they are now working on the Byrd Gang 2.0 album.
In recent years, Keen Steetz has built a reputation as a well-respected local legend and skilled performer with a gritty NYC sound. Starting with the release of his first project during Hurricane Sandy in 2014. Keen began to gain traction around the release of his project ‘Family To Feed Vol.1‘. Following his established serious buzz, he began performing at venues such as Webster Hall while hanging out with Cassidy and the red-hot GS9 crew.
‘Family To Feed Vol. 1’ prominently featured Keen’s second Rowdy Rebel collab with the track “Never Slip”. Additionally, he received a shoutout from Bobby Shmurda himself at the height of the GS9 wave during his appearance on the Breakfast Club. Since, Keen Streetz has gone on to drop ‘Family To Feed’ 2 & 3 along with ‘Better Late Than Never’ Volumes 1 & 2. Both projects included notable features from Dave East, Tony Collins, Kiing Shooter (RIP), Neek Bucks and more.
With ‘Street Gospel,’ Keen returns in 2021 with a new project and the same gritty Queens energy. Tracks like “Purpose” and “Wanna Be Right” feat. Tony Collins are early standouts from the project. Overall, Keen Streetz is a great and well-respected New York emcee with a lot to give. With his new project and his new relationship with Jim Jones’ Byrd Gang 2.0, you can expect to see a lot more of him this year and more to come.
