Chicago rapper NoSleepCity is apparently in the holiday spirit this year! With his new release “Deck The Halls” he gives his “Drill” rendition of one of the most popular Christmas carols to date.
NoSleepCity is no rookie to Chicago’s entertainment scene and some would argue is one of the top artists looking to emerge in 2023. In his new release he gives us witty lyrics and a hook I think no one was expecting to hear over one of our childhood favorite melodies, when asked what was his creative process he stated,
“I’m in a place of just trying to be as creative as I can, I want to make music fun for myself again for a while it became like a job, I think I was stuck trying to make a hit record instead of what I got into the music for, which is the love of it I think anyone who listens to the song will feel the fun and playfulness of it all.”
A very fun and catchy song it is, we’re looking forward to hearing more from NoSleepCity in the near future as he’s set to release his highly anticipated mixtape “Why He Aint Signed Yet” in early 2023. We’re hoping sooner than later, with the recent success of tracks like his semi viral hit “Alter Ego (2022)” we know there’s more in the chamber!
