2022 started with a bang as two intricate entities produced an event that left a fingerprint in the minds of all that attended the Ghetto Gallery II “Pop Up Exhibit” in Midtown Manhattan. If it’s had an impact on Hip-Hop culture, it was represented at this art meets fashion affair. Ray Thompson, an Art Dealer of Divide Right Entertainment (DRE) partnered with 2020’s breakout urban clothing apparel, Griselle New York by Fashion Designer Asia Purnell to make this a memorable event. Their success was an indication that they understood the assignment.
The Ghetto Gallery II “Pop Up Exhibit” had a variety of amazing art on display by some phenomenal artists. They kept the energy going with a fashion show that rocked as the models ripped the runway. Dripped in unisex apparel, Griselle New York represented the Hip-Hop culture, as the attendees listened to strong beats and powerful verses on tracks that shaped rap music of all eras. Art came to life in so many creative forms such as: blinged-out sneakers, souped up motorcycles, custom designed mirrors and artwork influenced by icons like Snoop Dogg, the late Nipsey Hustle and legendary NBA Player, LeBron James and more. Patrons came ready to have a good time and spend some money. There is nothing like supporting those who continue to ignite the fire that is still spreading worldwide in Hip-Hop culture.
