Brooklyn’s own DUSTY LOCANE, Rah Swish, OnPointLikeOP and the Bronx’s Ron Suno teamed up for their collab SAY DAT EP out now! In a time where it’s impossible to discuss the current state of rap without acknowledging the cultural impact and dynamics of NY drill, the guys are out to show that though they can hold their own, they can also shine together. Born from the natural chemistry and respect the four close-knit EMPIRE signees have with and for each other, the project finds each emcee attacking the captivating drill beats with their own unique styles on the group and solo tracks alike: DUSTY brings his booming basso; Ron packs punchlines into his triplet flows; Rah is effortlessly cool as he rhymes with his thick NYC accent; OP spits with audible hunger through a coarse rasp, when he isn’t showing off his skill with melody.
Along with the project, the guys also share a new video for the intro track “ANGELS AND DEMONS.” Over the combination of heavenly synths and angelic harmonies with Jersey club percussion and NYC drill’s signature sliding 808s, the four emcees each deliver a verse in their own style and bring all the vibes and energy in the new video as the track sets the tone for the project. It’s great to see such genuine camaraderie and unity like this in the NY drill scene. Big moment for the city!
