DeAna Fai
DeAna Fai, born Ashlee Deanna Faison on October 31, 1985 in Orlando, Florida is a musician who knows no boundaries. She’s a Pop, Hip/Hop, and RnB singer, songwriter, and music business entrepreneur. DeAna Fai was raised in Virginia and was always interested in music and the arts as a child. This led her to pursue a career as an entertainer. Whether performing on stage or working behind the scenes, DeAna Fai always puts her heart and soul into everything she does.
An Introduction to the World of Music Business
Music had always been a passion for DeAna Fai, but it wasn’t until she met Rogers Brown that she began to understand the business side of it. Brown, her former music business professor at Norfolk State University, took DeAna Fai under his wing and taught her the ins and outs of the music business. With Brown’s help, DeAna Fai could learn about the business side of things and discover other important aspects of navigating through the music scene. She also began understanding the importance of networking and building relationships with industry professionals after have investing her time and money into several books and online research. Thanks to Brown’s guidance, DeAna Fai was able to launch her successful music career.
DeAna Fai Faces Heavy D.
DeAna Fai was personally invited by Heavy D and Former Bad Boy Records engineer Jamaine Farmer, better known as “J.F. Bey,” to join a group of songwriters, producers and engineers for Heavy D’s last album “Love Opus” in 2011 at Daddy’s House Recording Studio in New York. She may have not secured a placement on the album but, DeAna Fai believed it to be what allowed her to focus on what she really needed to do to make her mark in the industry.
The Success Story of DeAna Fai
In April 2014, DeAna Fai established “Oxymoron Music Entertainment, LLC.” She has scored numerous placements in films without managerial or agency assistance. Thanks to film director Paul Hannah, she performed the song “Breathe” for her first Hollywood Feature Film and romantic comedy titled “My Favorite Five” in 2015.
In the years following, she’d make additional film soundtrack appearances, including “Hey Mr. Postman!”, “Perfectly Single” and “Puzzled.” DeAna Fai also starred as an upscale bar customer on Fox’s Television series “Empire.” Loni Love also invited her on her platform after she sang the version of “Listen” by Beyonce in 2020. The show titled “Loni Love’s Quarantine Talent Show” had between 50,000 and 100,000 viewers on Instagram Live.
DeAna Fai began a podcast in 2021 called “DeAna Fai presents Kings and Queens of Entertainment,” where the celebrities discussed their journey and more, on panels they were scheduled and assigned to. This also opened up a place for the entertainers to interact with one another and their fans on a lighthearted and serious level. The first season of this podcast included over 60 entertainers, such as actors, actresses, artists, music and film producers, comedians, and more. The season finale is a video version that is currently in post-production called “DeAna Fai presents Kings and Queens of Entertainment Reunion Recap & Giveback” which in in support of two foundations for its first season to include “The National Breast Cancer Foundation,” and “The American Stroke Association.” The celebrities that participated are Lady Luck, Dunlap Exclusive, Erica Hubbard, Tyrell Crawford, Rodney Perry, D-Teck, Claudia Jordan, Rebecca King Crews, Tony Dofat, Melvin Jackson Jr., Jackie’s Boy, Rayshun LaMarr, Kenneth Okolie, Stevie Boi, Tehran Von Ghasri, Erika Ringor, Brandon Broady, Sprague, Rob Gordon, Angelique Bates, Hannon Lane, Kenya Brown, Carrie Bernans, Rosemary Rodriguez, Candace Wakefield, TT The Artist and DJ Pryor. Some of her newest music will be featured on the show and will be available on all major platforms upon its release.
DeAna Fai is a recording artist who has succeeded in many areas of the music business. Her versatility and talent have been evident since her early days singing in her church choir, writing original songs, and performing on television and in films. DeAna Fai is also a charitable philanthropist, assisting individuals through her volunteer efforts.
