It all ties into what he’s working towards, success and a prospering career in music. He also strives to maintain relevance in business to the point that he’s powerful and influential like Drake & the late but never forgotten Nipsey Hussle The Great.
He chose to remix “Clarity” by Nip because he’s always loved the way he graced the track produced by Mike & Keys. It just has that West Coast vibe that brings a certain energy to him. He grew up on NIP & didn’t realize they were doing very similar things in their lives. NIP was and still is extremely influential to Jyoungin and the culture. They met him at The Marathon Grand Opening on Slauson and Crenshaw back in the day and Jyoungin will always remember that. IamJyoungin says he got called Lil Nip from time to time because of their various works in the community and being an upcoming recording artist with braids and mixed look. Similar to when Nip first came out they tried calling him Lil Snoop because of the similarities fans saw, but Nip wasn’t going for it. Jyoungin often has to correct individuals and say, “aye there’s only one Nipsey Hussle and IAMJYOUNGIN.
He’s been in the mindset of staying consistent. His new formula is dropping an original single of his own, then a remix to a song of a bigger artist he really rocks with. It helps him keep content out and fresh music for his supporters all while building his catalog and buzz. He can put out 10 bangers today and by the time the week is over, his fans will be like, ” when is your new stuff dropping?”. He’s on his tip right now so he’s grinding like crazy, creating visuals, and dropping more singles until he generates the fanbase and leverage he needs to walk in the buildings and get solid business taken care of for his team and himself.
