Interview With Fast-Rising Artist Mali Miri

•    Hey Mali! What first got you into music?

I always loved music also loved performing other artist songs and eventually I got into poetry and that turned into rap and then I wanted to make my own beats.

•    Who inspired you to make music?

Honestly my seventh-grade music teacher she had us do an assignment where we had to record a song and I’ve been recording music ever since.

•    How would you describe the music that you typically create?

Pop, Soul, Hero

•    What is your creative process like?

It depends on what has inspired me in that moment.

•    Who would you most like to collaborate with?

I would love to work with Dr. Dre, Quincy Jones, and Kanye West
•    If you could go open a show for any artist who would it be?

I don’t think of opening for anybody but if I had to choose it would be Drake.
•    What is one message you would give to your fans?

To always believe in themselves and put their best foot forward.

•    What is the most useless talent you have?

I don’t believe any talent is useless we all have something unique to offer the world.

•    Do you sing in the shower? What songs?

Yes, I do, and if not unreleased music of my own then old school.

•    What would you be doing right now, if it wasn’t for your music career?

I would probably be painting and drawing a lot more.
•    Where have you performed? What is your favorite and least favorite venues? Do you have any upcoming shows?

I have performed all throughout the tri state I look forward to performing all around the world. I just love performing I have no preference. I do have an upcoming shows people could find my schedule on my Instagram.

•    How do you feel the Internet has impacted the music business?

I feel it has created more entrepreneurs in our field then ever before and that alone is a positive thing for our community.
•    What is your favorite song to perform?

I would say I look forward to performing my music that hasn’t been released yet!
•    Which famous musicians do you admire?

Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye, Rick James, Jimi Hendrix, it’s a whole lot too many to name.
•    What is the most trouble you’ve ever gotten into?

I’d rather not go into it but I feel like us as people we make mistakes and hopefully we grow from them and make greater life choices.
•    What is the best advice you’ve been given?

Always ask because if you don’t ask the answer is always NO! So basically, this means fight for your dreams and what you believe in.
•    If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?

If I can change anything about the industry, I would provide more leverage for the artist.
•    What’s next for you?

I’m going to continue to tour and market my music. I have two projects coming out the first one is called The Intro which should be out the end of the month, and the second is called “Next Flight to Nowhere”! I also have merch and videos on the way so look out for that and a whole lot more stay tune
