Key Glock‘s flexes have always served a higher purpose than mere braggadocio. Wrestling with his past and present sins in his latest video single, the Paper Route Empire stunna shares “Forgive Me.“ Produced by Memphis hitmaker Hitkidd, who layers carol-like bells and children’s choirs atop the booming bass and 808s of his hometown’s trap music, “Forgive Me” is Key Glock’s devotional prayer to the grind, dripping with insights into street living and testaments to Glock’s chosen one status: “I walk by fate, yeah, with my pipe/I smoke with demons every night/I wake up, gamble with my life.” In the video, Glock takes ’em to church, donning a nun’s habit as he preaches to his congregation and stunts in front of stained glass.
“Forgive Me” is a highlight from PRE5L, Glock’s new EP, released on #DolphDay in November. The five-track project paints a way forward for the legendary Memphis label, as the 25-year-old rapper shows his determination to lead PRE into a bright future. Featuring production from Tay Keith, BandPlay, HitKidd, JohnnyTurnItUp, and Aimonmyneck, and home to the recent video single “Jigsaw,” PRE5L is available everywhere via Paper Route Empire.
The video for “Forgive Me” quickly follows the recent announcement of Glock’s SiriusXM’s Hip-Hop Nation Presents: Key Glock – Glockoma Tour, which kicks off in March. Featuring support from fellow Memphis heavy-hitter Big Scarr, the 31-date run kicks off on March 5th at Atlanta’s Coca-Cola Roxy making stops in Detroit, Chicago, Los Angeles, Dallas, and more before wrapping up in Nashville, TN at Marathon Music Works on April 28th.
