Sony’s Lara D releases her U.S. debut single, titled “Bad Case of Loving You,” accompanied with a music video. Directed by Alex Greaves, the new artist shares her rollercoaster love story while traveling with friends. During the journey, Lara D learns that loving someone is difficult, but finds self-love following heartbreak. Stream the new song everywhere via Sony Entertainment Australia.
“about falling into the trap of toxic love and the mixed emotions that come with discovering if someone is genuine, or if it’s all part of a game,” says Lara D about making her new single. “Sometimes we fall for someone that we shouldn’t because they don’t treat you right or they fall through on their promises. It’s not a heartbreak song, it’s more about warranted disappointment in someone for turning out exactly like you thought they would.”
“Bad Case of Loving You” is produced and co-written by David Musumeci and Anthony Egizii of DNA Songs. For Lara, once she heard the song’s production, the word to the song came to her, instantly. “I was playing with vocal ideas and I come up with a cool rhythm vocally in the chorus, everyone reacted and said “that’s it”, it became a key hook – it was funny as I kinda wrote it without thinking,” she recalls.
An artist-to-watch of 2022. Lara D’s latest song follows her 2021 record “No One.” Of Morrocan-Lebanese origins, Lara’s upbringing has been marked by the cultural vibrancy, unique sonic and artistic influences and above all, a strong sense of self and family. “Bad Case of Loving You” sets up more new music from The Voice’s Australia alum, with an expected debut album.
