I don’t know if there’s something in the water in Southern Indiana or if justbrandon randomly decided that 2023 was going to be his year, but he’s definitely been putting in work the past few weeks. I caught wind of justbrandon after he was posted to basketball player Julian Newman’s Instagram story, and while scrolling through his reels noticed Derez Deshon (Hardaway) in his likes. Since following him, there hasn’t been a day yet that he hasn’t popped up on my timeline, so if there’s one thing I’ve noticed already is that this guy is consistent.
This latest single called “Please Don’t Feed the Snakes” is filled with quotable bars and seems like it could be tied to some personal situations. I’ve noticed justbrandon’s lyrics consistently have substance, but this release is on another level. Who hurt this man!? The lightly auto-tuned track makes for a captivating listen that anyone that’s ever been wronged can relate to. There is a distinct tone attached to this track that alludes to the seriousness of what he’s saying; between the relatable lyrics, the emotional instrumental production by Ryini, and the noticeable consistency as of late, I think justbrandon might just be onto something with this one.
