SadBoy Loko dropped “Gangsta Fo Life,” the fourth release this year from his upcoming album “Sin Fronteras.” The album, due out on August 12, features Regional Mexican legend Lupillo Rivera, as well as Corridos star Jorge Gamboa, Mexican rapper Aleman, and Chicano king of auto-tune MC Magic. After opening the year with the track “Pit Lock,” which currently stands at 1.6 million views and counting, SadBoy released tracks including “El Llamado de Las Calles,” “Controlando Las Calles,” and “Palm Trees,” which features Billboard charting artist Kap G and rapper YBE.
Through dark shades, SadBoy Loko delivers his lyrics from the staircase of an apartment complex, a back alley, and a sunny intersection. Classics and lowriders engulf the block in smoke as they coordinate in perfect donuts and drifts. Gold chains line the necks of the lingerie-clad models’ and SadBoy’s necks, matching the glistening gold rims on the painted lowriders, completing the portrayal of a sunny day on the block.
Having proven his capabilities and shown a different side of his craft, it’s only right that the last track released before the release of “Sin Fronteras” displays the ever-growing talent and well-known style SadBoy Loko is known for. “Gangsta Fo Life” embodies that exact ideal and completes an impressive four-song preview of what his album “Sin Fronteras” will offer.
Together with multi-platinum producer Cricket, and with the backing of his label Prajin Records, SadBoy Loko has managed to not only maintain consistency in dropping high-quality content but further explored the versatility of his sound. After leading with “Palm Trees,” which gave a laid-back California summer feel, SadBoy taps into his roots with the fusing of hip-hop and Regional Mexican in “Controlando Las Calles,” bringing it back to the West-Coast rhymes he is known for in “Gangsta Fo Life.”
