Two-time Grammy award-winning super-producer, songwriter, entertainer Bongo ByTheWay prowess as a music maven has naturally placed him in the space as one of the most sought out producers right now. Setting a stage as a multi-hyphenated artist who lends his masterful craft of a limitless number of genres, the Nigerian-born music maven is poised for another undefeated year of success as he shapes a legacy of longevity. Bongo ByTheWay garners another acclaim at this year’s 62nd annual Grammy® Awards as Jazmine Sullivan’s critically acclaimed projectHeaux Talesholds a nomination for ‘Best R&B Album.’ Last year, Bongo unveiled his first production for the new year for the extraordinary R&B project with his musical arrangements for one of the lead singles from the project for “Girl Like Me” featuring H.E.R. The single has since achieved Gold status for selling over 500,000 units via RIAA, was also nominated for a NAACP award earlier this year (Outstanding Duo, Group or Collaboration (Traditional), and peaked Top 10 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Song charts.
Referencing the song in an interview with media outlet Rated R&B last year, Bongo shared: “That record, to me, is the definition of less is more. I didn’t even attempt to put drums on the song because it was so good. I didn’t want to overproduce. I didn’t want anything to take away from what they were saying.”
Last month, Bongo contributed to three tracks for Mary J. Blige for her 14th studio project Good Morning Gorgeous with “No Idea,” “Love Will Never,” & “Here For It” featuring Anderson .Paak.. On the Hip Hop spectrum, Bongo placed on Jamaican American artist BEAM’s Alien project with “Hurt People” featuring Zacari and “Planet Beam.” Bongo also re-connected with Cordae for his recently released project From a Birds Eye View with “Gifted” featuring Roddy Ricch, which is still amassing critical acclaim since the single’s release in 2020.
