Tay Spades is a Jamaican-American artist based in Queens, NY. He’s also the founding member of LLOMB: Lavish Life Only My Brothers. Hailing from a City of where many Rap legends were born, Tay grew up listening to the likes of 50 Cent, LLoyd Banks, Jay-Z, Fat Joe — which you now hear influenced in his own music.
Spades found himself getting caught up in the street life and trouble that came with it at an early age, but fortunately by 14, he found his love for Hip-Hop. Rapping quickly became a spare-time hobby that eventually grew to be a central part of his everyday life.
As his growth as an artist grew, so did his fan-base. Exponentially at that. His talents then led him to working with other big names in the game, such as Rich The Kid, Lady London and Jay Gwuapo. His most recent collaboration, and biggest to date, is with Yak Gotti, of YSL.
Today, we highlight their joint project, titled “Two Heavy.” As many of us know, Yak Gotti is currently in federal custody for his alleged part in a RICO case against YSL, the label of Atlanta superstar Young Thug.
The 2-track EP was recorded prior to Yak’s arrest, and just a preview of what the duo had in store for fans. With Yak facing a lengthy-prison term, Tay has stayed positive through it all and continues to push the project and the freedom for Yak!
Tay has seen his share of obstacles as well. After the murder of his older brother, Spades, and his music switched focus. He now talks about his street activities as a tool, and let’s it be known that this tool will get him and his brothers (LLOMB), the life they deserve.
