In celebration of Earth Day today (April 15), Tee Grizzley released his Half Tee Half Beast mixtape. The 17-track project features only two featured artists: Lakeyah and Baby Grizzley. One of his earliest fan favorites is “Robbery Part 3,” a follow-up to his popular “Robbery” and “Robbery Part 2” collection of videos, which collectively have over 22 million views on YouTube. Yawn Rico’s accompanying visual serves as a counterpart to Grizzley’s poetic lyrics, providing the following cinematic imagery:
In discussing the project, Tee says: “The mixtape’s title represents the difference between me and the other people I have been near.” Yes, I am human like everyone else, but also by virtue of the things I’ve lived through and endured, I became a beast.” Besides the music release, Tee Grizzley has also planned a contest in which the winner will be able to spend the day with him and be part of his new music video, “Half Tee Half Beast.”
Following the release of Tee Grizzley’s third studio album Built For Whatever in 2015, a number of albums have been released.Built For Whatever featured 19 tracks and additional contributions from King Von, G Herbo, Quavo, Young Dolph, Lil Durk, YNW Melly, Big Sean, Lil Tjay, and more. In addition to the success of his project, he was also a top 20 success on the Billboard 200, solidifying his position as a highly popular Detroit artist in hip hop and popular music in general. Aside from his latest hit (“Afterlife”), Grizzley has also contributed his distinctive style of bars to artists such as Lakeyah, YNW Melly, and Payroll Giovanni.
