David Goversen, also known by his artist name “IcyDavy”, was born in Tilburg, on July 7, 2005. He started producing music around the age of thirteen after his parents gifted him a brand new keyboard and speakers to start his career as a music producer. He quickly learned the ins and outs of the software called FL Studio. With this software David made several beats, and his beats are mainly influenced by the ones from the American music producer Scott Storch, who he listened to from an early age.
It all started when David Goversen joined the live stream from well-known volleyball star Daenan Gyimah, known as rapper Kofi from Toronto. During the live stream in 2020, in the COVID-19 period, IcyDavy performed one of his beats to the rapper Kofi, and he was struck by what he had heard: “Everything is there, for fourteen, give homeboy some quarantine time and he’ll be triple platinum by the age of seventeen”, said Kofi and director Jai Shaun White from Las Vegas. This stunning experience gave David an incredible confidence boost to move on with his productions shortly. He immediately starts crossing national borders and influencing peers with his music.
On the 28th of June 2021 participated in an event called “Challenge The Loop”, which was hosted by the Dutch producer Renjiroo, from the QuatroVision label founded by Dutch artist Henkie T. The jury was very impressed by the beat that IcyDavy produced with their sample, and a couple of days later, he performed his beat at an event in Amsterdam, Netherlands. IcyDavy will never forget this moment, everyone was enjoying his beats and they were all hyped for his upcoming productions.
David has always been a motivated person since his youth when he wanted to get his name recognition in society and on the internet, claiming his artist name IcyDavy on all social media platforms, which were given by his schoolmates, who were always calling him “Icy”, because he loves ice cream. With his motivation, he managed to claim successful goals, and now, he has very good plans for his future: first of all going to Los Angeles, California; a place that will allow him to network with a lot of people from the music industry and create beats for world-famous artists and also visit amazing music studios with high-quality equipment. Icy is also planning his clothing brand, because of a high demand from his fans, who want to express themselves and spread Icy’s attitude; and this is so important for him, because of his will of inspire young and upcoming producers that everything is possible with the right mindset.
