Mahalia is currently preparing to release an upcoming album and has already provided fans with a number of top notch singles such as “Whenever You’re Ready,” “Letter To Ur Ex,” “Jealous” featuring Rico Nasty and “Roadside” by AJ Tracey. She expands on that this week with a Hart and JD collaboration, “Whatever Simon Says.” Reid co-produced the track, which offers empowering lyrics from Mahalia about being an individual:

In terms of today’s topic, there’s only one that I’ll be discussing, and that’s individuality. Being unique is a wonderful thing. It’s sort of like being a superpower. ‘Whatever Simon Says’ is my gift to any of you out there who are tired of people telling you how to behave .. what to say.. and what to look like. I am writing this letter to all of you who refuse to compromise your happiness for the sake of someone else.”
Mahalia has been doing music for quite a while now, since she released her sophomore studio LP in 2014, which included 13 tracks and was produced by Terrace Martin, Burna Boy, Lucky Daye, Hamzaa, and Ella Mai. Fans got to enjoy three unreleased cuts on Isolation Tapes, an album she released in 2020.
