Cash Cobain, the multi-hyphenate NYC rapper & producer extraordinaire, has just released his new track “Slizzy Gods”, along with the announcement of his signing to Giant Music. Widely known as the pioneer of “sample drill”, a sub-genre whose influence continues to bleed into the mainstream music of today, Cash Cobain is fresh off of a monumental year in 2022—receiving co-signs from Frank Ocean & Lil Uzi Vert before releasing his critically acclaimed mixtape, 2 SLIZZY 2 SEXY.
Now a household name in the ever-evolving “sample drill” scene with collaborations with everyone from Lil Yachty and LUCKI to Bktherula and a teased future collaboration with PinkPantheress under his belt, Cash Cobain is continuing to expand upon his dynamic, groundbreaking sound with the release of his new track “Slizzy Gods” and the news of his signing to Irving Azoff’s new label venture, Giant Music.
“Cash is an incredibly exciting signing. He’s from the birthplace of hip-hop and an authentic voice for the culture. We’re happy he’s a part of the Giant family. We’re looking forward to being a part of his story and helping to develop and grow his career.” – President, Giant Music, Shawn Holiday
Serving as a direct follow-up to his 6-track Slizzy Day EP from earlier this year, “Slizzy Gods” follows suit in flexing Cash Cobain’s unique skill set that comes complete with boisterous charisma, R-rated flirtations and ethereal, sample-heavy production. As Cash continues to prove his undeniable talents as both an influential producer and a captivating emcee, he’s stretching the boundaries and blending a carefully-curated array of genres and sounds into one that he’s able to claim as being uniquely his own. Although “Slizzy Gods” is a short offering, Cash Cobain wastes no time in filling the space with his booming drum lines and spacey synths, as he flexes his magnetic personality through his playful bar work and lively flows – “I love bitches, I hate men / You not movin’ slizzy, you not make sense / Even when I’m not vacant, I need it right now, I am not waiting”, he raps on the hook with his signature mischievous flair. After curating the sounds of NYC with his iconic production techniques and subsequently breaking out as an exemplary rapper in his own right, Cash Cobain is continuing his momentum as a truly singular artist with the release of “Slizzy Gods”.
