Set in an old-fashioned diner, BJ The Chicago Kid slips into a romantic fantasy. The cinematic visual offers fun energy for the two artists who are generally known for their soulful mid-tempos about love and heartbreak. The playful world of romance was crafted by former Beyoncé & Janelle Monae dancer turned director, Tajana Tokyo, who has recently worked with the likes of Ari Lennox, Flo and even Rihanna’s road to Superbowl trailer for Apple Music.
“Spend The Night” is the third release from BJ’s highly-anticipated collaborative album with GRAMMY Award-winning super-producer Yeti Beats, which arrives later this fall via RTW Records/RCA Records. The forthcoming project was recorded live with critically-acclaimed band, The Indications in Memphis, Tennessee at Royal Studios, the home of soul legend Al Green in just one week and offers a creative departure for BJ, who, with the help of Yeti was pushed to explore more of his funk, pop and vintage soul sensibilities.
With “Spend The Night,” BJ The Chicago Kid and Coco Jones offer a pop-infused R&B anthem that is surely bound to ignite new flames for their already fiery careers.
