DJ-Logo DJ Logo: From the Bronx to Center Stage

In the heart of the bustling borough of The Bronx, where hip hop culture first ignited, a young DJ Logo was born and raised in the vibrant streets of New York City. Growing up on Sedgwick and Cedar Avenue, a place now revered as “Hip Hop Boulevard,” Logo was immersed in the rich tapestry of this genre from the get-go. Raised by his grandparents since birth, Logo’s journey into the world of music began when he was just eight years old, buying his first vinyl record with hard-earned savings. The track that would forever change his life was Poor Righteous Teachers’ “Rock Dis Funky Joint.”

Logo’s love affair with music only grew from there. In the early ’90s, while other kids his age were collecting cassette tapes from iconic music stores like Nobody Beats The Wiz, Music Factory, and Tower Records, Logo was already forging a unique path. At the tender age of 13, he took his first steps towards his destiny as a DJ, spinning records and crafting mixes that would later define his signature sound.

The Bronx has always been an incubator for hip hop legends, and Logo quickly found himself inspired by the musical giants of the day. DJ Kid Capri, Funk Flex, DJ Premier, Brucie B, DJ Kool Herc, and many others influenced his early style. Logo’s energy, passion for music, and unconventional DJ techniques would soon catapult him to fame and recognition.

At just 17, Logo landed his inaugural gig at “The Wedge,” a gentlemen’s club nestled in the Hunts Point section of The Bronx. This establishment, well-known for its HBO TV special “The Point,” served as a springboard for Logo’s career. It even earned a mention in the lyrics of the late Black Rob’s “24 Hours To Live.” This was only the beginning, though, as Logo’s journey would lead him to spin records at some of the hottest clubs, lounges, and corporate events across New York City and the Tri-State area.

From the MetLife Stadium’s 2021 Hot 97 Summer Jam to iconic venues like Madison Square Garden, Barclays Center, B.B. Kings in Times Square, and the Hammerstein Ballroom, DJ Logo’s beats have reverberated far and wide. Not to mention, he’s graced the stages of Citi Field and the Delta Suites at Yankee Stadium, leaving audiences in awe with his unmatched party vibe.

Logo’s influence extends beyond New York, as he has taken his unique sound on tour alongside renowned artists like Trina, Pop Smoke, Busta Rhymes, Swizz Beatz, French Montana, Rick Ross, Migos, and many more. His music has brought life to shows and performances across the country, adding a touch of Bronx magic to each stage.

In the mid-2000s, Logo earned an internship at Def Jam Records for Mixshow Promotions, working alongside industry titans like Rihanna, Rick Ross, Mariah Carey, Ludacris, and Juelz Santana. This experience opened the door to a road DJ position with Def Jam Artist Young Leek, adding more layers to Logo’s already impressive career, while building lasting relationships with future music executives John Kwatakye-Atiko (Popular Demand Entertainment) and Steve “Steve-O” Carless (Warner Records / Defiant Records).

One of the highlights of Logo’s career was his participation in VH-1/Smirnoff Vodka’s DJ reality show “Master Of The Mix,” during its second season. This high-profile competition aired on cable TV worldwide, showcasing Logo’s skills and charisma to a global audience.

Logo’s journey doesn’t stop at television appearances. He has graced multiple cable TV and streaming networks, from BET’s “Ruff Ryder Chronicles” to Yes Network/MSG Network’s “Dyckman: The Comeback.” Logo even showcased his talents on Tidal, performing at Hot 97’s Summer Jam 2021 alongside Swizz Beatz.
But Logo’s success doesn’t end with live performances and media appearances. In 2012, he secured his first opportunity as a Mixshow DJ for FM radio, becoming a monthly guest DJ on 93.7 FM WBLK’s “The Go Getta Mix w/ Adri V.” This marked a turning point in his career, and Logo’s talent and charisma continue to shine, even after 12 years on the air.

In August 2023, Logo reached another milestone, DJing his debut appearance on Sirius XM’s “Shade 45.” It’s a testament to his unwavering dedication and talent that he continues to evolve and reach new heights in his career.
Today, DJ Logo is the official DJ for Jordan Brand/Dyckman Basketball, one of the world’s most renowned streetball basketball tournaments. He’s paid his dues, worked tirelessly to reach where he is, and is nowhere near done. As Logo’s star continues to rise, we can’t help but wonder where his musical journey will take him next. One thing is for sure: Logo’s future is as bright and exciting as the beats he spins. So, make sure your cameras are ready, because this shooting star is crossing your sky, and it’s a sight to behold.
