With his rich production, appealingly raspy vocals, and quick-witted lyricism, Eem Triplin invites listeners into a world of his own creation. Sliding over a smoothly slow burning instrumental, the 22-year-old artist/producer shares “TELL ME IM RIGHT,” his brand new video single. “TELL ME IM RIGHT” is the first glimpse of Eem’s upcoming debut EP, STILL.
Produced by Eem himself, along with co-producer Charlie Myles, “TELL ME IM RIGHT” mixes ringing, reverbed guitars and bubbly electric keyboards with thudding percussion to emphasize Eem’s easygoing melodies. The song finds the Johnstown, PA native spits game and drops witticisms in rapid-fire fashion, switching on a dime from rizz to tough talk and back: “Will you hold this sh*t down ’til I make it baby/We can ride til the moon and the sun set/There’s so many things I ain’t done yet.”
“TELL ME IM RIGHT” arrives with a scenic, Declan Kyle-directed music video, in which Eem takes a vintage Mustang to the countryside (Patterson, CA, to be very precise), where he watches cows and fraternizes with beautiful women. The wide, natural vistas provide an ideal complement to the luscious instrumental, as Eem works through his feelings. The video ends with a sneak peek at another new song from the upcoming STILL EP.
